Chintex was killed on Monday, November 28, 2022, by gunmen, who reportedly stormed her residence and shot her dead while her husband sustained gunshot injuries on his leg. EX-MINISTER PAUL UNONGO DIES AT 87

    By Agbetu Becky Second Republic Minister of Steel, Wantaregh Paul Unongo, is dead. Unongo died on Tuesday afternoon at the age of 87. The elder statesman died at a hospital in Jos, Plateau State. The former Chairman of the Northern Elders Forum, NEF, has been battling with ill-health lately. The late Unongo was born on September 26, 1935 and belonged to the Kwaghngise-Anure-Abera ancestry in Turan of Kwande Local Government Area in Benue.

IGP TO INVESTIGATE HIS THREE MONTHS SENTENCE TO PRISON BY COURT

  By Esther Onuigbo In a reaction to the order of a Federal High Court in Abuja, on Tuesday , sentencing the Inspector-General of Police IGP, Usman Alkali Baba to three months in prison for flouting a 2011 court order, t he IGP has however directed the Commissioner of Police in charge of the Force Legal Unit to investigate the allegation in a bid to ascertain the position of the court and proffer informed legal advice for the IGP’s prompt and necessary action. The  verdict on the IGP’s committal followed a suit that was filed by a police officer, Patrick Okoli , who was unlawfully and compulsorily retired from the Nigerian Police force. UNCERTAINTY HITS ABUJA-KADUNA TRAIN RESUMPTION DATE

He made this revelation at an inspection tour to assess the readiness of the Abuja-Kaduna rail services before the commencement of operations on Sunday in Kaduna. However, early this month, the federal government had promised that the Kaduna-Abuja train service would resume on Monday, 28th November, 2022. The rail service of the Abuja-Kaduna train was suspended following the attack on the train on 28th March, 2022 when terrorists planted explosives that derailed the train. The Minister, who could not give a definite date for the resumption of the rail service, stated that its resumption would not be more than a week.
