14,000 ATHLETES TO COMPETE FOR MEDALS AT DELTA 2022-NSF

About one thousand four hundred youth athletes from the 36 States of the Federation and Federal Capital Territory ,FCT- Abuja will be competing in over thirty different sports, including football, basketball, wrestling among others as Delta 2022 finally commences. The Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare, made this disclosure in a chat with newsmen today in Abuja.

Dare expressed optimism that at the end of the competition, budding talents will emerge and the country will witness more podium performances with them in subsequent global competitions.

The Minister commended the Delta State government for the determination which has brought Delta 2022 sports meet into fruition, and also for providing Nigeria’s teeming youth with the opportunity to showcase their sporting talents amidst strengthening the unity of Nigerians. Dare has urged the participants and sports loving Nigerians to grace the Delta 2022 sports festival for glory and passion.

CBN Clarifies Issues On Old Naira Acceptance After Feb 10

   By Our Reporter The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) says after the  February 10 deadline for Naira Swap, Nigerians will only be able to redeem the face value of the Naira at the CBN and not at commercial banks. The Director of Corporate Communications Department at the CBN, Osita Nwanisobi said this on Tuesday while interacting with newsmen. He said this clarification became important following the position of the CBN governor, Godwin Emefiele, that old N200, N500 and N1,000 will be accepted after the February 10, 2023 fresh deadline. He explained that the old notes would cease to be legal tender after the February 10, 2023, and can no longer be used for any form of transaction afterward. He added that the acceptance will be subject to meeting certain conditions. The duration for the acceptance of the old notes after the expiration of the deadline was, however, not stated.
