EX-MINISTER PAUL UNONGO DIES AT 87

Second Republic Minister of Steel, Wantaregh Paul Unongo, is dead.

Unongo died on Tuesday afternoon at the age of 87.

The elder statesman died at a hospital in Jos, Plateau State.

The former Chairman of the Northern Elders Forum, NEF, has been battling with ill-health lately.


The late Unongo was born on September 26, 1935 and belonged to the Kwaghngise-Anure-Abera ancestry in Turan of Kwande Local Government Area in Benue.

PETROAN FAULTS DSS, SAYS CABAL MUST BE HANDLED

  By Nkoyo Etim The Petroleum Products Retail Outlets Owners Association of Nigeria (PETROAN) on Monday, faulted the 48-hour ultimatum issued by the Department of State Services (DSS) that oil marketers make Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) also known as petrol available for Nigerians. The Association said until the secret agents go after the cartel operating among private depot owners hoarding the essential commodity, fuel scarcity and long queues will persist. PETROAN Chairman, System 2E, Eastern Zone, Sunny Nkpe, made this known on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily programme. He said that there is no amount of threat by DSS that is going to change anything.
