JUST IN: Investigate, Arrest Peter Obi's Attackers In Your State Or We Sue- SERAP

Social Economic Rights and Accountability Project, SERAP, has urged President Mohammadu Buhari to, as matter of urgency, investigate reports on attack on Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, after his rally in Katsina.


Katsina is the home of President Buhari.

But the state has been a hotbed of insurgency and banditary.


Even President Buhari's own convoy was attacked in the state, in what many believe was a diversionary strike before the infamous invasion and jailbreak of Kuje correctional facility in Abuja.


Speaking on its twitter handle, SERAP said that Buhari administration must promptly investigate the reported attack on LP presidential candidate, Obi, after a rally in Katsina on Monday. 


"We’ll take legal action if the perpetrators are not immediately arrested and prosecuted," the tweet said.

On the said date, suspected hoodlums Attacked Peter Obi's Vehicle while returning from the campaign rally at Muhammad Dikko Stadium on Monday 23 January 2023 in Katsina State.

One Killed, Others Injured As Gunmen Attack INEC Office And Police Station In Anambra

  By Our Reporter    Gunmen early hours of Wednesday attacked the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, office in Ojoto, Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State. The gunmen also attacked the Nnobi Police Station and a residential building within the station, located  in the Council Area. Eyewitness account  that the gun men, while shooting sporadically killed a 16-year-old boy, a relative of a serving policeman in the station, while the another victim, a 15-year-old female, sustained a gunshot injury and has been taken to the hospital where she is receiving treatment. Confirming the incident, the Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, said security had been reinforced in the areas, just as the situation is still being monitored.
