The Director General of FCT Emergency Management Agency,FEMA,  Alh. Idris Abbas has announced that the agency has started plans ahead of the impending natural hazard in the April , may rainy season of 2023, asserting  that any responsible government disaster management agency should have early plans for such situations in any circumstances.

According to the press statement by the head of Media and public relations Nkechi ISA, the DG made this known during the presentation of  FEMA score card for 2022.

The statement also stated that in 2022, FEMA responded to 42 distress calls on the 112 emergency toll free numbers. This shows a marked reduction to 2022 where we had 173 distress calls.

Abbas attribute this reduction to the massive sensitization of residents, and thereby commended the FCT residents for their cooperation, particularly in heeding to our early warning.
