BREAKING: Adeleke Rejects Osun Tribunal Verdict, Vows To Appeal

By Our Reporter

The Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke has rejected the tribunal judgment that sacked him on Friday,  27th January.

Kukuruku News had earlier reported that the Election Petition Tribunal chaired by Justice Tertse Kume sacked Adeleke as Osun Governor for cases of over-voting.

Adeleke in a statement by his spokesperson Mallam Olawale Rasheed, described the judgement of the tribunal as,  “a miscarriage of justice” vowing to challenge the ruling at the Court of Appeal.

According to the statement,  “the Governor who reacted to the  verdict  from his country home, Ede,  faulted the resolution of the over-voting question in favour of former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, calling it  ‘an unfair interpretation’ against the will of majority voters”

He urged his supporters to remain calm, insisting he remains the rightful winner of the July 16 election.

He said, “I call on our people to remain calm. We will appeal the judgement and we are sure justice will be done. Let our people be reassured that we will do everything possible to retain this widely acclaimed mandate.”
