POLICE STOP COUP PLOT, ARREST 25 PEOPLE IN GERMANY

German police officers have scuttled  a coup plot to overthrow the government. Twenty-five people have been arrested in raids across Germany on suspicion of plotting to unsit the leadership of the day .

Media reports have it that the group of far-right and ex-military figures planned to storm the parliament building, the Reichstag, and seize power, reports the BBC.

A German known as prince called Heinrich XIII, 71, is alleged to be the master mind central to the coup plan.

SIX STATES JOSTLE FOR NSF 2024 HOSTING RIGHT..

One Killed, Others Injured As Gunmen Attack INEC Office And Police Station In Anambra

  By Our Reporter    Gunmen early hours of Wednesday attacked the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, office in Ojoto, Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State. The gunmen also attacked the Nnobi Police Station and a residential building within the station, located  in the Council Area. Eyewitness account  that the gun men, while shooting sporadically killed a 16-year-old boy, a relative of a serving policeman in the station, while the another victim, a 15-year-old female, sustained a gunshot injury and has been taken to the hospital where she is receiving treatment. Confirming the incident, the Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, said security had been reinforced in the areas, just as the situation is still being monitored.
