NAFDAC FLAGS OFF CAMPAIGN AGAINST SKIN BLEACHING PANDEMIC IN NIGERIA

National Agency for Food and Drug Administration And Control,NAFDAC in collaboration with Association of Nigerian Health Journalists has Flagged- off it's nation wide media sensitisation on dangers of bleaching creams and regulatory controls in the country today, Tuesday 6th December, 2022 in Abuja.
While addressing participants at the workshop, acting Director General of NAFDAC ,Monica Eimunjeze admonished the media to take the front seat in the campaign against the skin Bleaching Pandemic by providing Nigerians with the right information to make right decision about safeguarding their health.
Monica lamented over the proliferation of skin Bleaching creams and products in the country that have assumed alarming proportion to the detriment of the majority of the unsuspecting Nigerians.
Director of Public Affairs of the Agency, Abubakar Jimoh while welcoming the participants expressed delight over the concern of the harm caused by bleaching creams by the federal government that has necessitated the national media sensitisation campaign and regulatory controls.
Jimoh seized the opportunity to call on the media as they are the right vehicle and conveyor belt for evidence based information to broadcast the campaign to the public, to take the lead in this bid to help rid the nation of the bleaching pandemic across Nigeria.
Present at the workshop were NAFDAC FCT director, Dr,Abdulsalam Ozigiz, Director Finance, Director Administration, Deputy Director Drug.&R Linda Halim, Deputy Director, cosmetic and medical devices Anto Ebele , Prof. Adeniyi Abiodun, President, ANHJ Comrade Hassan Zaggi.
