The Governor of Benue  State, Samuel Ortom has signed N179. 7 billion 2023 appropriation bill into law.

The  appropriation bill stipulated 106.1 billion for recurrent expenditure and earmarked N73.5 billion for capital expenditure for Benue in 2023.

Ortom,whilst signing the law, appreciated the state legislators for their support and the speed on the budget  approved as presented to the executive.

He thanked the legislators for drawing synergy with the executive in achieving desired outcomes in his administration of state.

Ortom stated that, “A lot of us are expecting a turnaround, rebranding and refocusing. We as humans have tried but we hope that God himself will rescue us and give us peace, hope and all that will make the coming year enjoyable.”

Earlier, the Deputy Speaker of  Benue State House of Assembly, Chris Adaji  whilst presenting the bill to the Governor, assured him of their commitment to formulating legal frameworks for making good governance of Benue an experience, and not a hope for the people.

 Also, he gave word for the legislative backing to Ortom in order to bring into fruition the delivery of democracy's dividends to the people before Ortom completes his second term in office.
