MINISTER SENDS NEW YEAR MESSAGE TO RESIDENTS OF THE FCT

The Honourable Minister of the FCT, Mallam Mohamad Musa Bello on behalf of the Administration, has sent a good will new year's message to the residents of the Federal Capital Territory wish everyone a very happy and prosperous New Year.

According to the press statement to the media,  the minister have a brief on the year under review into 2023, which he said holds a very important place in the democratic development of the nation. 

Bello ceased the opportunity to applaud residents of the Territory for their exemplary conduct not only in the collective quest of building a befitting capital Territory for our country, but also for holding true to the principles of unity and peaceful co-existence which is the foundation on which the FCT is grounded.

He recounted that a year ago, in the 2022 New Year message, he enjoined residents of the Territory to participate actively in the Area Council elections, and once more commends  the residents for abiding by the democratic and lawful processes in the election of the council elections. 

The minister promised that in the preceding year, the FCT Administration will consolidate on its efforts of providing world class infrastructure for the Territory with efforts to complete on-going projects and investing heavily in the maintenance and upgrading of existing ones.

SIX STATES JOSTLE FOR NSF 2024 HOSTING RIGHT..

By Terseer Jackson As the 21st edition of the National Sports Festival in Delta state gradually comes to an end, six States of the Federation have so far indicated interest to be given the hosting right of the next edition which is expected to hold in 2024. According to a press release by the Director, Press and Public Relations , the Minister disclosed this today at the Stephen Keshi Stadium Asaba, the Delta State Capital, shortly after watching the Gymnastics event between Team FCT, Delta and Ondo at the ongoing sports festival. One Killed, Others Injured As Gunmen Attack INEC Office And Police Station In Anambra

  By Our Reporter    Gunmen early hours of Wednesday attacked the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, office in Ojoto, Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State. The gunmen also attacked the Nnobi Police Station and a residential building within the station, located  in the Council Area. Eyewitness account  that the gun men, while shooting sporadically killed a 16-year-old boy, a relative of a serving policeman in the station, while the another victim, a 15-year-old female, sustained a gunshot injury and has been taken to the hospital where she is receiving treatment. Confirming the incident, the Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, said security had been reinforced in the areas, just as the situation is still being monitored.
