Edo Train Attack: Kidnappers Contact Family of Victims For Ransoms -Police

The Edo State Police Command says the gunmen who invaded the train station in the State on Saturday, have started making contacts with families of some of the kidnap victims.


The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Chidi Nwabuzor, disclosed that a family of one of the kidnap victims was at a Police Station to report that the kidnappers contacted them to pick up some of their relatives that were earlier kidnapped.


He stated that though, on getting to the said place and waiting for several hours, the family members did not receive their loved ones as said by the kidnappers.


He however said the State Police Commissioner, CP Mohammed Dankwara, in company of other security agencies, were at the scene of the incident.


The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) said 362 passengers were on board the train on Saturday when terrorists attacked, killing eight, injuring 26 and abducting many others

JUST IN:C’River Commissioner kidnapped, Shoes Found In Creek

  By Our Reporter  Cross River State Commissioner for Women  Mrs Gertrude Njar has been reportedly kidnapped on Wednesday at about 9:30 am  According to report, Njar was carried away at Mbukpa axis of Calabar South LGA. Kukuruku News gathered that her shoes were found in the Creek of Calabar South by the security operatives. Meanwhile, Mr. Kenneth Abang has been abducted alongside his family on Monday . INCESSANT ATTACKS ON INEC FACILITIES MAY MAR 2023 ELECTION---- OKOYE

INEC expressed worries that if attacks on its facilities persist till January 2023,it would affect the conduct of the general election. Chairman information and voter education committee Mr Festis OKOYE expressed the concern at a workshop on political violence and election security organised by national defence college in Abuja.
