REDESIGNED NAIRA NOTES ARE READY FOR ISSUANCE – EMEFIELE

The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, revealed that the newly redesigned Naira notes are already in banks and ready for issuance.

 

According to a statement on CBN’s official twitter handle, Emefiele said so in Daura while on a visit to brief President Muhanmadu Buhari on the Naira redesign and the recently reintroduced cashless policy.

 

He said that the currency redesign and reintroduced cashless policies were not targeted at anybody but are for the good and development of the Nigerian economy.

 

He urged Nigerians to embrace the various electronic channels available for banking and financial service transactions in Nigeria.

 ” The CBN deferred the cashless policy severally to prepare and deepen Nigeria’s payments system infrastructure,” he said

JUST IN:C’River Commissioner kidnapped, Shoes Found In Creek

  By Our Reporter  Cross River State Commissioner for Women  Mrs Gertrude Njar has been reportedly kidnapped on Wednesday at about 9:30 am  According to report, Njar was carried away at Mbukpa axis of Calabar South LGA. Kukuruku News gathered that her shoes were found in the Creek of Calabar South by the security operatives. Meanwhile, Mr. Kenneth Abang has been abducted alongside his family on Monday . Mr Kenneth Abang He was kidnapped while traveling to attend his father’s burial planning meeting in Boki LGA of Cross River State Nigeria, South south region. According to report reaching kukuruku News, Kenneth Abang, who was kidnapped around Biase- Calabar Highway with Eunice, are expected to have their father buried on the 3rd and 4th February 2022 at Okundi community.

INCESSANT ATTACKS ON INEC FACILITIES MAY MAR 2023 ELECTION---- OKOYE

  By Kunle Awoniyi The Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) is gravely concerned about the incessant attacks on its facilities and said it could adversely affect the 2023 should it persist. INEC expressed worries that if attacks on its facilities persist till January 2023,it would affect the conduct of the general election. Chairman information and voter education committee Mr Festis OKOYE expressed the concern at a workshop on political violence and election security organised by national defence college in Abuja. Okoye who also is INEC national commissioner on publicity and voter education,expressed grave concern over cases in states where the attack took place including destruction of ballot boxes and other election materials as well as permanent voters card.
