Pro Democracy Organisation Cautions Osun Governor on Good Governance
By Terseer Jackson
A Pro-Democracy Organization, Democracy for Africa Programme has called on the incumbent governor of Osun state, Senator Ademola Adeleke to as a matter of urgency settle down to the serious business of governance and deliver the dividends of democracy to his people.
According to a press statement to the media, the group's Country Director, Dr Kokoiwen, was reacting to the political development in the state following the assumption of office by the governor.
Kokoiwen stated that leadership in a democracy is about the people, therefore, the governor must work hard to galvanize support and earn the trust and confidence of his people. He also called on Adeleke to ensure that no individual or group is victimized or intimidated on the account of their political affiliation or persuasions on issues in the state.
Whilst he enjoined the people in the state, particularly politicians and political office holders to close ranks and support the governor to deliver on his campaign promises, he urged the governor to acknowledge that he holds the public trust of the Osun people and he must put the interest and feelings of the people above partisan politics, personal ambitions and other considerations.
