Brazil Legend Pele, Dies At 82

Brazil legend and three times world cup winner, Edson Arantes do Nascimento popularly known as Pele has died after years of suffering from colon cancer at the age of 82.

Pele was born on 23rd October, 1940 in Três Corações, Minas Gerais, Brazil and died, Today, 29th of December, 2022 in Morumbi, São Paulo, Brazil.

He started playing for Santos at age 15 and for the Brazilian national team at age 16.

Pele, who is regarded as one of the greatest players of all time and labelled “the greatest” by FIFA, was among the most successful and popular sports figures of the 20th century.

Pelé is the joint-top goalscorer for Brazil with 77 goals in 92 games. At club level he is Santos’ all-time top goalscorer with 643 goals in 659 appearances.

During Santos’ golden age, he led the club to the 1962 and 1963 Copa Libertadores, and the 1962 and 1963 Intercontinental Cup.

Pele had married three times and he’s survived of seven children which are: Edson Cholbi do Nascimento, Sandra Regina Machado Arantes do Nascimento, Joshua Nascimento, Nascimento Celeste, Kelly Cristina Nascimento, Flávia Christina Kurtz Nascimento and Jennifer Nascimento.
